Hi,

I am using VMWare Server 1.0.4 and I having issues opening my VMWare images.

When I start the VMWare Server, it does not give me an option to open a local image. It goes directly to asking me for a host name to connect to and asks me for a user name and password.

How can I set it so that it allows me to open a local image? Or at least give me both options?

Thanks.
Akiba.

The only time I have had this is if VMWare Server does not start properly on the Windows OS. I would check to ensure that VMWare Server is starting properly also checking the Event Viewer for any issues.

Are you also using the VMWare Console that was installed as part of the VMWare Server installation? Using the separate VMWare Console installation will not allow you to choose the local server

Thanks for your response.

The server starts well.

I am not sure about what you mean by a separate VMWare Server Console. I did just one installation.

And it is in Win XP Home edition and not Win Server2003.
