I can't seem to open my saved html file from fireworks back in fireworks although it does open seperately. It basically says it cannot find a a html table in the file? What the hell is it going on about?

If you can help please let me know.

If you save a fireworks document it usually saves it as a png file - if the file that wont open is a png file then change your computer settings to make fireworks the default program to open png files.

But it sounds like you have exported the file to html, therefore you will need an html file editor to edit it - if you dont have one then use notepad.

Hope this helps

simonchristieis (is correct, you need to open the PNG; not the html file, but ... there is a better way:

You can open your original PNG file (before the export) and then edit it, and then choose FILE > UPDATE HTML. It should give you options of updating images + HTML or just html.

I *LOVE* this option. We never use this on finished sites, unless we need to change an entire menu or something like that; but this is GREAT for prototyping layouts with quick changes. How many hours has this saved me ... I have no idea, but it's lots!
