can't open dbx in eindows mail

My hard drive started to fail and I was able to save my OE6 dbx files to a small drive. I have about 50 different dbx files, ranging from 100k to almost 1gb.

First, when I try to import IE folder using Windows mail, it says there are no files. WHen I import into Outlook2007, I can only import 3 of the 50 folders.

So, I found an laptop running XP with OE6 and placed dbx files in appropriate identity folder and OE6 only opens a few files.

Are the others corrupt? What are my options? thanks.

Sounds to me like hard drive issues have corrupted your OE data store files (dbx files). Also, having 1 GB files is kind of pushing the limit for OE. It's not really very robust and is prone to corruption issues as those files get big (especially folders.dbx).

In order to have all the folders show on the XP/OE laptop, you'll need to delete the laptop's existing folders.dbx file. <a href="

As for why you can't import into Windows Mail directly, make sure that this isn't the case
