Hi

I have a standalone system runing a software which calls mail merge wizard. The software was working perfectly but when we connected to our dept. network, the mail merge part does not work properly i.e. it can't find the data source file. When we triggers mail merge button, it gives an error (# 1426 in Mailmergeword8(0): Ole Error code 0x80080005: Server execution failed)
and after that it brings the microsfot Word document but with out data file. If we take the pc off from network it works fine without any problem.

Your help in this regard will be very much appericiated.

Since the application "was working perfectly" as you stated and then stopped working when you tried to connect to a different source, Then I would start looking at the other source. Is the software that generates the mail merge file the same version as the other departments that do work?? David W. Grewe

hi David

The machine is basically same. The only change we did is, we put it on the network. All the source files are same as they were.

Not the FoxPro Code source files, The Mail Merge Source Files. Is The Version of the software that generates the Mail Merge file sames as what it was getting before you connected it to the network. David W. Grewe

The Mail Merge Source File and the version that generates the Mail Merge file is same. I think when we connect the Pc to the NT network while opening Word document it is looking for the data file ( or OLE) somewhere else ?

OK If all the versions of software are the same and the computer can not find the input source file, then next thing I would check is the network rights to the location on the network where the file in located to ensure the computer can see the input source file.

No file is located on the network and the terminal act as fat client. All the data and source code everything is on the local hard drive. The objective to put the system on to the network is to share printing resources.
