I just moved our paradox 4.5 system from novell to windows 2000 server (AD). if I am logged on as any other then adminstrator, I get the error:

"Can't start Paradox: unable to open/create L:\PDOXDATA\PDOXUSRS.NET. You might h
ave insufficient access rights to directory L:\PDOXDATAPress any key..."

I can run it as a "administrator" but not as myself (I am a copy of "administrator")
Even if the user has "Full Control" for all of the paradox files. It is the same no matter what machine I am on also.
any suggestions? its mostly history and archives, so i dont want to upgrade it.
I am realy not that familiar with this software, but I do have my command line set up right. please help!!!
thanks

kevin

The fact that you can start Paradox as Admin user, means that the change from Novell is not a problem.

This message usually means that the user does not have write/create/update access (probably the last one is needed as the .NET file will exist).

This file is needed for all users, so all users need the rights to the directory. I'm coming from a Novell background, but see no reason why it should be any different.

Hope it helps

Phil

Hi, PhilUK:

It appears that you are familiar with Paradox 10.0 and. possibly Windows XP.

My Paradox 10 won't run, and I get that PDUSRS.Net message.
If you know how to repair it. Please tell me. The other Corel programs in the bundle: Quattro Pro, etc.

Your assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Fourls
