Can't Open Act Database on Network Computer

I have Act 2009 set up in my office on my network. I saved our database on the network. I need to be able to access the database from a different computer on the database. When I try to access the database, I get a message that reads, "Can't access..in order to access check network connection and verify your database server is available?" I can open up other files on the network. Please tell me what to do because my boss keeps yelling at me.
