Cant open a .Cdr file in Corel Draw 12

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me. I received a .cdr file from someone who was using corel draw 9. Now when I go to open it up in Corel Draw 12 which is what I have it says the following message. "Either C:\documents and settings\1of2.cdr is not importable using the selected filter, or this format is not supported. Does anyone know how I can open it? When I go into my Documents The file has a preview icon of what the file is suppose to look like but yet it wont open up. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I have only v11 and x13 but I'm sure v12 should be able to open a v9 file.

Most likely possibility is that the file is corrupted, so perhaps ask the person who sent it to check they can still open it in v9 and to send you another copy.
