I can't network worth beans. I've got a Win 2K machine(mine) my wife has a Win 98se machine. Both machines are connecting to the internet through a hub and cable modem-on problem. I've been trying to set up a peer to peer network between the two-no joy. Each machine will list itself in network neighborhood/ network places, but doesn't see the other computer on the network. I've added the netBEUI protocal-still no good. Can somebody point me in the right direction. Thanks.

If you have a Firewall it could be blocking the connection or you have not enabled drive sharing on the PC's drives

Check the workgroup, make sure the name is the same for both computers. Check IP addresses on both make sure they are different but in the same class. (192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.3)

I've experienced simular problem.
one work a round is to un-install TCP/IP. then re-install after reboot. works almost everytime.
due make sure you have firewall turned off.
and make sure you can ping each other.
also make sure you have the same subnet mask(i.e. 255.255.255.0)
