All of a sudden I can't leave the home page with IE 6 on an XP Home box - It is set up as a workgroup - not part of the domain. No matter what I change the default home page to with internet tools, it comes up fine when I open the browser - but if I try to navigate away, the browser hangs and I get a 'cannot find server' error - I have to end the process w/ task manager. I have deleted all temp files and cookies, etc. and set my home page to a site I've never been to before - opened the browser and there it was - quickly - so I know I have connectivity. But click any link and it hangs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Start with bcastner's 'IE_fix.cmd' instructions in thread608-864624. If that doesn't help, open a command prompt and run sfc /scannow. If that still doesn't take care of it, follow all the steps and information in faq608-4650 & faq779-5240

Thanks,
I'll try these and let you know.

Sorry I didn't reply - got busy. I fixed the problem - it ended up being spyware. I ran cwshredder, spybot, and adaware. They all found something different and corrected them. Thanks for your help.
