I have tried every possible way to ensure my document is cmyk and not rgb, but the black keeps showing a blend of colours and not 100K. Please help me create a document in 100K for print.

Thanks for any help - MUCH appreciated.

Michael

I don't quite understand you question. Do you man that the black does not come out as black when you print or that your black swatch, comes out as something other than c-0, m-0, y-0, k-100?

Ordinarily, just using the black swatch, gives you k-100.

Is it possible that you're using a "rich black"? That adds other colors to increase the "richness" of your black. For instance c-100, m-100, y-100, k-100 appears to be black.

You might also check your prefs/general/print options and see if "overprint black at 100% is checked". If so, try unchecking it.

I am having a similar problem to this but it seems to be because the text box is sitting within a graphics box and the printer is treating everything as colour. I have text elsewhere on the same page that prints out pure black, because it isn't in a graphics box.
Sorry, no answers, but could this be happening to you?
