Have just changed over a client to a new forest/domain. They were previously a part of a parent company and have divested. Two win98 systems are unable to validate their username against the win2k domain. One is on the local net, the other on a subnet. The local user can access network resources and the network and windows logon names are configured to be the same. The remote user just gets a message that the username can not be validated.

Both users have been logged on using other systems (XP and win2k pro) to export/import mail to an exchange server. However, their personal systems are win98. We're now trying to log them on and can't. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We're on a really tight deadline to complete this conversion. Thanks. Diane

Diane - you might want to post in the appropriate server forum too (eg, forum96 or forum931).
