Hello,

I have been using IP Office for a few months now, and have been managing the extensions, etc through the Manager on our server.
Recently, with no apparent cause, I cannot log into the configuration anymore. I click on the yellow folder to log in, and it pops up a box (empty, of course) asking me to "Select Control Unit to read configuration from"

I checked my 'working directories' preferences, and they look right.

Anyone have any ideas how to get control back?
Thank you

-Mark

in preferences is the ip address 255.255.255.255 ???
if yes try to put in the ipaddres of the ipoffice
are you connected straight on the ipoffice (you should do)?

oh man thanks for that!
you know, the broadcast had been working fine all along... but, i put the ip of ipoffice in there and it's back up and running.

thanks a lot ;)

great that it works again
i had this problem before
sometimes it just stops working with broadcasting
i still don't know why :)

i odn't have a firewall running on my laptop
but still the broadcast stopped working suddenly
after a clean install it worked again for a while
i don't know what it is but i don't mind
if i don't know the ipo that i have to program then i better can stop with it :)

the firewall does not have to be on the laptop. if the ip is on a different subnet the it will not repsond to a broadcast. ie your laptop is 192.168.1.200 and the ipo is 192.168.2.100 then it will not respond to the broadcast. also different vlans will not pass the broadcasts. it sould like it may be an issue with network setup and not manager.

it even happens when i am only connected to an ipo without a network attached on it
i understand that it can be a network firewall or something else but that is not the case
