Hi,
I have a Daily file, that is an excel file which I would like to have as a linked table in Access 97.

But I get an error "External Table isn't in the expected Format".

The Excel spreadsheet is outputed from crystal reports, and I suspect that Crystal outputs in an old version of excel.
This is not within my control, so I cannot change this.

Can anyone help with creating this link?
Many Thanks

Hi,

No responses so far for this, and off the top of my head: I'd say get someone to import the old version into a newer version of excel, then use this.

I wouldn't trust an export from Crystal in any case, no experience of Crystal Reports, but it's possible that this 3rd party software hasn't exported it correctly.

Regards,

Darrylle
