Can't keep attachments open in Outlook

My clients are having problems opening Word attachments in outlook. The attachments open and then close after a few seconds. At first they were asked, “Do you want to revert back to saved version of filename.doc”. I have been running …\Office\winword.exe” /unregserver, then /regserver and that works for a temporary fix.

Any thoughts?
