I've recently replaced a harddrive in one of our workstation and reinstalled the OS (win 2k) and al of the drivers but i'm now having a problem joining our domain.

Whenever I try I get the message unable to find domain 'domainname'

I'm sure not doing anything different from what i've done a million times before.

Ive tried replacing the network card, i've removed the computer from active directory and tried that, i've tried ipconfig /flushdns all without any luck. This was working fine before replacing the harddrive so i'm almost certain its not the motherboard and the network card appears to be working properly.

Any ideas would be really appriciated.

1. Make sure Computer, Server, TCP/IP Helper and Workstation services are running.
2. Make sure you point to the DNS on TCP/IP settings.
3. Check DNS and WINS servers and make sure correct settings and records.
4. Check the hardware settings such as duplex and NIC driver.
5. Use static IP to test it.
6. Remove it from the domain and re-join it.
7. Apply or reapply Service Packs.
