Hi everyone,

I'm having some trouble installing this Video driver. When I try to install it i get this msg;

"Setup was unable to complete the installation. Check the progress log in in your Windows directory for more details."

Running windows 2000 pro.

Does aanyone have any ideas?

I had same problem with an AGP card. I cant even get it to start up in Win2000
Works OK with PCI card

I'm having the exact same problem trying to install on Windows 2000. Anyone find a solution?

There a some cards that just dont work in win2000 or SP.
I checked with the manufacturer (Pine) of one brand new SIS 305 PCI card and they say there are no drivers for Win2000 and they dont intend to produce one.
Old AGP cards wont work either. There is a different standard for new ones - something to do with clocking.
You have to buy new AGP cards

Windows 2000 has problems with network cards .

Before you go buy replacement cards , if you can physically remove the network card , do so , then try you video card installation .

For those with onboard , you need to enter bios and disable it first .

Also , be aware , that s3 video cards require "their" specified drivers , use the wrong version , and you almost have to do a complete reinstallation of windows 2000 .

Bottom line , avoid s3 chipset cards all together , unless your are extremely technically minded person .

Use of matrox , tnt , diamond cards work fine .
