After putting a PC on our Domain I cannot install Office 97. Error message reads " MS Office was not successfully installed at this time" This message appears after I am prompted for the path to install. It says " Searching for installed components" for 10 sec before the error appears. I can install office before putting the PC on the Domain. Even removing the PC from the Domain into a Workgroup does not help. I am using a Select copy of MS Office 97 Pro. .....Any ideas???

Do you have any other versions of Office or versions of select components of Office installed?
Joe

No the build is NT4 SP4 with no other software installed. PC's range from DELL P111 to Compaq Deskpro 2000.

One thing I can think of, possibly, is there is a "ghost" in your registry, pointing to a copy of Microsoft Office that isn't there. One thing you might try is to run regedit, and search for OFFICE. Then delete any keys you find pointing to Office. This might help, just make sure to back you registry up first ;-)
