I downloaded the offline install program from sun's website and when I run it it gets to the end and says:

Windows Installer
Error applying tranforms. Verify that the specific
transform paths are valid.

Can this message be any more vague?

Any help would be appreciated

XP Pro SP3

Thanks
Tim

Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid" error message when you run the Office 2000 Setup program

Error Messages

read the first carefully, as it explains the usage of the Windows InstallCleanUp utiility, which you will need... usage can render some software items unusable and these need to be reinstalled...

the second only verifies that there is an issue and older installs should be removed before you proceed to install the update... but in all the problem lies with the first link, where the Installer agent gets scrambled up...

Unfortunately, I have tried both suggestions with no success.

Thanks

Wow, I found this on one of the links and it worked!

Navigate to the following folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Sun\Java\jre1.6.0_06

where User is whatever username that you chose for your computer and jre1.6.0_06 is the name of the Java version that you want to install (currently version 1.6).

4. You should see a Windows Installer Package file (.msi) in the folder, Just double-click on the installer to install Java with no problems.

Much Thanks
