Hi All,

I have a user who has a CP1525 plugged in to a laptop via USB. Recently, out of no where he says, whenever he printed (and it would print) he got an error message saying that hpmsn103.ddl had crashed. Close the error and you could print again! The error also came up when trying to view printer properties and a lot of the time it would crash explorer as well. However, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer thinking a corrupt file but when trying to reinstall the printer I've hit more problems. If I use the HP installers they crash and fail, sometimes crashing explorer as well. If I try and install via Add a Printer then I get caught in a loop where I get told the spooler isn't running. If I go to Services and restart the spooler and try and finish the installation I get another error with the code 0x000006be. Hit next again and I'm told the printer name already exists. Choose a new name, Next and the first error re-appears. If I then cancel the install process then the printer is listed but I get the same original problem.

So I'm pretty stuck! I've tried following advice given here: That didn't help. I've tried other bits and bobs of advice from various posts with no effect!

If someone can come up with something else to try, that would be amazing! Thank you!
