A few months ago, I bought a 17" powerbook Mac. It's running Tiger 10.4.2. I'm still trying to work out a few bugs, the most frustrating being that I cannot install Flash Player 7.

I downloaded the installer and ran it. It goes through the installation process, gets down to 1 item to install, and then gives me the message:

Error creating file.
1008:5,-5000 Access denied error

Then I press okay, and get:

You do not have enough access
privileges for this installation.

I also have Tiger running on my two (very old CRT) iMacs, and have had no problem installing Flash Player. Any ideas?

Sounds like your not logged in for "root" privileges. Not sure why you would need to be to install the flash player but worth a shot.

No time to explain so I did a google to help you get loogged in (if you dont already know how), once logged in as root see if it will let you install then.

Not sure. Is that version of Tiger the same version you had installed on your imacs? I know with my last Tiger update I had to do the same thing when I installed flash player 8 beta.

Not really sure. New privilege restrictions I guess.
