Cant install DLink NIC

Dear all,

I have an old version of Caldera OpenLinux with a Kernel of 2.0.35 (I'm looking to upgrade soon.) In the meantime, however, I am having troubles getting the Dlink DFE-530TX (Rev A) NIC to work.

Having followed advice and disabled PNP in the BIOS and attempted to load the correct module: (VIA-RHINE). Lsmod does not show anything that looks like the card, 'modprobe via-rhine' does not return anything useful either. I've tried to reload the module using LISA, but it fails.

It appears to me that this could either be a hardware issue, or I've been stupid and missed something rather obvious.

Any ideas ?

Found the problem.

I had defined the IRQ and Address setting in conf.modules instead of letting them be interrogated from the card.
