My installation of Adobe Reader 9.0 keeps failing on my Vista computer. It seems to download ok, then the install starts, and it fails with a can't find C:users\username\appdata\local\Adobe\Reader 9.0\setup files\READER9\DATA1.cab I have checked and the file is nowhere to be found.

I had user controls turned off, per an article on the web I tried turning them back on, no change.
This PC has a copy of Adobe Creative Suite installed, but it is deactivated right now, so that I can use the Adobe on a laptop and be portable.

Any ideas? I don't seem to have any version of Reader on here, and I need it.
Thanks!

A little bit of information here.

Adobe Reader 9 is released – to install, or not to install

When you download from Adobe, if you click on the link which is available if the Download Manager link fails to start, you can then download it without the Adobe Download Manager doing it.

Have you tried right-clicking on the Setup/Install .exe and using the "Run As Administrator" option?

The link you posted helped. It was definitely an incomplete download. When I used the link you suggested (without Adobe Download Manager), I got the full program and it installed just fine.
Thanks!
