User had problems with operating system, just really hosed. Installed new HDD and put new Operating System and Outlook Express 5.x. Saved copies of previous mail messages (*.mbx) and (*.dbx) files to his new HDD. They won't import. How can he read/convert them to a useable format?

Can't import Outlook Express MBX and DBX files

What error messages comes up when they tried to import? Did they remove the read only attribute from the files assuming these were cdopied to a CD? joegz

Any joy with this yet? I have a similar problem trying to import mail into Outlook Express 5. No worries with the DBX files but the MBX files aren't recognised. I've checked and the read only attribute remains unticked. If someone can help I'd be most appreciative because this issue is driving me mad.
