Can't Import images into Powerpoint 2002

Hi,

Everytime I try to do an insert from file in Powerpoint, I get the following message "A problem occured while importing file"

My operating system is XP Home.

Anyone have an idea as to what is causing this??

A lot of unaswered questions.

Can you import anything else?

Can you import another graphic file type?

Is this happening with one pic or more?

Can you import the image into Word or Excel?

Will the image open using another app (or app that created it?) In such a case, can you copy and paste it?
