Can't Host 1

I have a westell 2200 modem, os winxp.When I had Comcast cable I didn't have a problem, But I moved and now it's DSL. I like to online Game, But friends can't connect to me now.I give them my IP and nothing.I've disabled the firewall in winxp and the westell modem,still nothing!
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Talk to your ISP. Many of the old Bell Atlantic sites acquired by Verizon DSL will block hosting.

Thanks I called Verizon's help line and talked with a Tech. He was no help at all...said he didn't know why I couldn't host a game.
