I just got this switch to setup two wireless networks and my LAN. I want to have an employee LAN and a Guest LAN. I have done the following so far.
1. Create a second VLAN (in addition to the default)
2. Installed the WAPs on Port 23 and 24
3. Set the WAPs up for Managed mode
4. Create the two SSIDs (Employee and Guest)
5. Pluged my DHCP server for my local LAN into Port 1
6. Pluged a router able to act as a DHCP server into Port 23 for what will be VLAN 2.
7. Assign each SSID to a VLAN in its profile
This next step is where I am having trouble. I have gone into the menus 'Policy->VLAN->Membership' and tried both tagging and untagging the ports I wanted to be in VLAN2, but they alway seem to act as though they are still on VLAN1. They keep getting an IP from my Employee LAN1.
Just to be sure the problem is that I am not getting my VLANs setup correctly I set Port 22 to also be on VLAN2 by tagging it just like the DHCP router on Port 23. When I try to get an IP from the computer on this port it can get it from either DHCP server which shows that the VLANs are not being created. Everything still appears to be operating on VLAN 1 (Default)
When I connect to the network via the WAPs I can get onto VLAN1 fine, but the SSID I setup for VLAN2 never gets an IP which I would expect seeing how it appears the DHCP Router I setup for VLAN 2 is still on VLAN 1.
Obviously I am missing a step here.
