Can't get to pix PDM or ping inside interface of pix while on VPN 1

I can access the pix PDM (pix device manager) and ping the inside interface when im on the network at work, but as soon as i come home and connect to the pix Via VPN, then i can no longer ping the inside interface of the pix or access the PDM. I need to be able to get to the pix. please help.

Try this little gem I got from Cisco TAC:

management-access inside

That allows you to ping the inside interface of the Pix from the outside. If you have multiple Pixs VPN'ing to each other, you can use this to test the VPN link by:

ping inside (address of inside interface of remote Pix)
