I just bought a brother HL-2040 printer because I was told it was Linux-compatible. I went to brother's web site and downloaded a driver for Red Hat/Mandrake/SuSE (or so I thought). I followed their instructions as best I could, but it still won't print, won't even respond. If I try to print from Konsole, the printer responds, but it just spits out empty pages non-stop til it runs out of paper.
I connected it to my Windows XP Pro machine and was printing fine in 5 minutes.
Very frustrating.
Any ideas?
