can't get pass msn search page

this has got me stumped ,no matter what I do ;I can't get pass msn search page. Before this happen MSN.COM was my home page. I changed it to yahoo.com and it will go to that site but if I click on any link it go's back to MSN search page ,can anyone help with this.

I've had this problem for three days now

open Internet Explorer, click the Search button on the toolbar. Click Change Preferences, and then click Change Internet search behavior. Click With Classic Internet Search, and then click OK. Restart Internet Explorer for the changes to take effect.

Now change the autosearch URL, open the Search sidebar again and click Customize. Then click AutoSearch settings and select the new search engine you wish to use.

I note the TweakUI can do a lot of this work for you.

ThankYou for your help bcaster but I forgot to mention that I'm using Windows 2000 and did'nt see the tabs you were talking about (Change Preferences, Change Internet search behavior, Classic Internet Search) ;would these tabs be in another place.
