Can't get OWA 5.5 to talk to EXCH 2000

Hi

I currently have OWA 5.5 running in my DMZ connecting to a server running exchange 5.5 on the internal network. I have installed a new Exchange 2000 server into the same site and have migrated a few users over to the new Exchange box. I can access all mailboxes through OWA on EX 5.5 box but cannot access any mailboxes on the EX 2000 Server.

I know that there are registry entries on the ex 5.5 server to statically map ports - but I can't find the same entries on the EX 2000 server.

I do not have the option to upgrade to OWA 2000 - although this might be a possibility in the next financial year.

Can't find any info in technet except that it says it can be done!! Any ideas?

You are doing exactly what I am hoping to do with my servers! I can't afford the exchange 2000 front end (enterprise license) this year. So, I am hoping to use Exchange 5.5 OWA for my new exchange 2000 server. I am still in the installation stages of my Exchange 2000 server, but I would be very interested in knowing when you are successful.
