Can't get nic to work

I am trying to install a NIC card. I have downloaded the drivers and installed on the computer (using a different computer and a thumb drive). I restarted the computer and the network connection is still not showing up....can anyone help me with this please?

NIC cards always give me problems.

What brand of NIC is it and have you tried different cables or switching to a different port on your switch? What type of computer are you using, specifically what brand or brand of motherboard are you using? What version of Windows are you using and have you made sure the PC is completely up to do on all patches?
