cant get message waiting light to come on 1

have partner mail with a partner 2 system.Have at least one ext that when someone leaves a message in there box the light will not light.Had sub go in and deleat all the messages in her box.Then swaped her set with one I know light worked left message no light (the messages are in her box)just no light

Hi johnrobert,
Sometimes the voicemail takes a while to light the msg lamp. This is the lowest thing on it's priority list. If any other phones work, then the vm is okay. You may have a defective port.
Try this. Go to the phone and enter feature 09 and that extension number. The msg light should light. Feature 10 and the same extension number will turn the lamp off. Be aware that the old MLS phones are bad for losing the message light as well as various buttons on the dialpad. If the light does not respond, then it's the phone or the port.
