Can't get Czech accents

Hi,
I need to copy the text from a Word document (in Czech language) into a Quark document but half the accents disappear. I dont know how to keep them or how to recreate them in Quark (its mainly the small V accent which stays above the S but has disappeared from above all the 'e's). I'm using 4.1 on a PC. Can anyone help?
