Cant get CR to publish prompts to InfoView portal

Hi there,

I have created a report in CR 11.5 with date prompts. When I preview the report within CR, the prompt shows up, no problem.

However, when I publish it to Enterprise Infoview portal (for end user access) the prompt does not get published. It publishes with the data that I refreshed in CR (I have the option 'Save Data with Report' checked). I even tried it with the unchecking the option 'Save Data with Report' but then the report publishes without any data.

I use the BO Publishing Wizard that comes with the tools to publish the reports. During this publishing process, the wizard forces me to set a value for the built in prompts. And I am guessing that is why once it gets published, there is no prompts showing in Infoview.

Folks, I thought this should be a trivial functionality to be able to publish your prompts in Infoview for end user access.

What am I doing wrong here?

Hi,
Be sure you have the 'prompt user for values' ( something like that) option selected for each parameter and no default value.
IIRC, you can refuse to provide a value for the parameters when publishing by just going to the next step and ignoring the publishing wizards warning/notice.

Yes, thank you Mr. Turk. Just clicking "Next" without touching the prompt values solved my dilemma.

Another thing to add would be to make sure that in CR the option "Save Data with Report" is unchecked under the "File" menu.
