Cant get CCM 4 to see SQL 2k sp3

Hello,
I am re-building a ccm machine due to failure.
I had the customer put W2000 SP4 and SQL2000 SP3 on the machine.
I installed the iFOR license and the Broker service OK.
When I go to install the CCM server and point it to the Broker (same machine name) it has a fatal error saying that I need to "upgrade to SQL 7.0". When I run a version script on SQL it says 8.00.760.
Is there a way to get around this please?

If you install CCM4 SP1 (it's a full installation) it should support SQL2000. Also update to the latest SP as there are problem running clients towards W2K SP4 (solved with hf208)
