I have a BCM50E s/w 6.0.2.05.237 (not sure what this means as I`m pretty sure I upgraded it to 3.0).
IP Subsystem as follows:
Obtain IP address dynamically - No
IP address: 192.168.1.2
IP subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1
The system also has 8 IP set licenses.

Telephony Resources:
IP Terminal Global Settings:
Enable registration - checked
Auto-assign DNs - checked
Default codec - Auto
Default jitter buffer - Auto

How do I need to program the 1140E sets under Network Configuration to get them to work on this BCM? And is there anything I need to do through the OAM programming. Thanks

assign an ip to the set and assign ip to s1 or set to dhcp if using a dhcp server.

Thanks for getting back to me. I programmed the set as follows:
DHCP: Partial
Set IP: 192.168.1.101 (can't be changed unless I change DHCP to No)
NET MASK: 255.255.255.0 (can't be changed unless I change DHCP to No)
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (can't be changed unless I change DHCP to No)
S1 IP: 192.168.1.8
Port: 7000
S2 IP: 192.168.1.8
Port: 7000

When I apply/restart the telephone after NORTEL is displayed I get the following:
Waiting for Cfg Data..., then
Couldn't identify switch, then
F/W Version 0625C23
Starting DHCP...

It then sits there and does not come up.
Appreciate any suggestions.

If this is on your network then you have to put the BCM on it with a static IP address.

S1 and S2 need to be the bcm ip address. Without it the phones will never connect.
