Cant foward Calls from MLX desktop

i cant figure this out. I programmed the button correctly on the phone. When i press the forward button and then hit 9 the display goes back to time and date. It wont let me put anything in to forward calls to. It i will let me put in extensions but i want to foward the calls to outside line. Wondering if someone can shine some light on this situation.

You need to set the extension for REMOTE FORWARD, and TRUNK TO TRUNK TRANSFER.

That should allow the feature to work.
