Bizarre problem started this evening, no apparent cause.

Linksys WRT150N connected to Comcast Cable.

Dell notebook, Windows Vista, connects to the router and Internet perfectly.

HP Photosmart printer, wired connection through router. Has worked flawlessly until this afternoon. Now, notebook no longer sees it. Tried PINGing the printer and address times out. Still connect to Internet with no problem.

Wired home built box, Windows 7, previously connected to the router and Internet perfectly. After printer fell off line from my notebook, fired up the box and it no longer sees the Internet. I get a "destination host unreachcable" message when trying to PING the router that it's wired to. It receives response when PINGing the printer. I'm also able to print to my printer from my wired box.

Second box, Window XP MCE. Wired to network. It also cannot get a response when PINGing the router.

I'm completely at a loss.

Wireless notebook IP data:
IPv4: 192.168.1.100
Default Gatway: 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server: 192.168.1.1

Wired desktop:
IPv4: 192.168.1.110
Default Gatway: 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server: 192.168.1.1

Wired printer:
IPv4: 192.168.1.104

Wired XP MCE:
IPv4: 192.168.1.102
Default Gatway: 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server: 192.168.1.1

As I see it, the only devices that can see the router is my wireless notebook. Both wired devices cannot see it.

Both wired desktops receive a response from a PING request. The wireless desktop cannot.

The two wired desktops and the printer are connected to the same Linksys router that the notebook is connected to.

So, the wired devices can't see past the router and the wireless device can ONLY see past the router.

If I've left anything out, it's only because I'm tired and frustrated. Looking for guidance on troubleshooting this problem.

Thanks in advance,
Larry

One more thing I forgot to meantion. Even though the problem appears to be in my router, I went ahead and reset Comcast's cable modem, shut everything down and basically did a cold boot of the system. As expected, that didn't change anything, but seemed like one more item to try.

So, I went to bed. About an hour after I woke up, I noticed my Windows 7 workstation had woken itself up, wanting to know what type of network I had (home, public, etc). I selected home. Shortly thereafter, everything just worked.

Four hours of troubleshooting got me nowhere. Take a nap and things just start working. Just like when I was an electronics tech - electrons are magic.
