Can't find server

I have a Metaframe XPa server farm. The server I am publishing the app on has an internet connector license. I am not load balancing this app - so it always runs on this server. I have placed on our website a link to an .ica file rather than using NFUSE (I won't go into detail about this for this forum). I have tested myself both internally and externally and had others test externally and they are having no problems connecting to the published app.

I have one user who has used the app many times before and recently has been unable to use the app. The message he gets is something like "Cannot find Metaframe server". He is using the AOL browser which he claims has worked many times before and currently doesn't work. I asked him to use IE and he had no reponse from the app either.

I would generally assume some kind of DNS problem, but everyone else has no problems, it is just this one guy. Any ideas?

Hi,

Look at the Server Location settings within the ICA file OR the Citrix Program Neighborhood on his PC. I'd guess it's to do with that!

In the ica file, change the adres pointing to the name, to the ip adres.
That way, you will skip application resolving, and connect directly to the server's published app.

sample:

Address=192.168.61.129
InitialProgram=notepad

When you say check the ica file, which file do you mean?

Hi,

His ica file that he has placed on his Web Server.

If you need to create one, right click the Published Application in CMC and choose "Create ICA File".
