I am trying to install a DotNetNuke installation and have several times successfully. The new version forces me to give Read/Write permission to a specific directory for the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE account. When I go to add this user to the permissions settings for this folder I can't find the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE account anywhere. I am running Windows 2003 Server R2 Enterprise Edition that was upgraded from a Windows 2003 Server SP1 evaluation copy.

Is this account still used or has it been deprecated? If it is still used why can't I find it?

try to find it by the following, this is how I do it and it works for me.:

computer\Network Service

Computer = local server name.
