Can't find MAINSP1.msp

I'm stumped on this one. I try to run any office application and get the error "can't find MAINSP1.msp."

I am quite sure that is a servie apck. But I have already installed SP1,2 & 3. Also, I can't find that file on my computer that is working properly. Why is that happening and what can I do to fix it? I tried going to add/remove programs so I could select the "change" option on Office XP. However, I am only offered the opportunity yo remove.

I tried the windows installer cleanup and it allowed me to reinstall office and the service packs. But it is still not working. What is going on?

yep, mainsp1 is a service pack
maybe try re-downloading and installing it

extract the files and it should create your MAINSP1.msp
