Hello all

Just moved our SQL 7.0 OLAP table to SQL 2000 Analysis Services on a new server. However when I attempt to process the cube, or anything else for that matter, the process errors out with an error message stating something to the effect it was unable to find the data source.

When OLAP was on SQL 7.0, the data source databases (Access 97) and the OLAP cube were on the same server. In the new setup, OLAP is one server and the data source is on another. Is it necessary to have both on the same server?

If we point the data source to a copy of the database on the new server, it processes fine.

Thanks for the advice.

I guess there's a reason why you need your database in Access rather than on SQL? - I think if I had the choice I would move the database tables to SQL, and then if you still have an access front end you need to use, use them as linked tables.

Moving your tables would certainly solve this, andit also gives you the other obvious benefits of a more scalable solution!

If this isn't an option, then mail me and I'll see if I can help. Fi.

:)
