Hello all....

(System RedHat 7.3)

I put BitchX on my box, it's werking great. Howerver, I read about a few exploits and I would like to tighten it up just a bit. There is supposed to be a config.h file somewhere for it, but I can 't find it. I found quite a few config.h files, but none of them had anything to do with BitchX.
I need to stop people from being able to ctcp? me. Once that's done, one can pull my IP out of the cryptic host name and away with the hacking....
If I can find that file, or find out how to cloak my server, I'll be a lot better off... Hope I was of some help...

Hi,

Don't know anything about BitchX, but config.h looks like a file supplied with source RPM. Did you install the source version or the binary one ? In this case, you won't ba able to re-compile it

I installed the src. Where you have to enter #make and stuff. I was "guided" through it, and it went so fast...well, the commands did, but the P 150 sure took it's time compiling it! Wow..like an hour to install BitchX.

I just built this box outa free stuff (except the HDD, and I bought the boxed OS)just so I could learn it. It's working for that...I know a whole heck of a lot more now than I did a month ago...

Thanks for the info..:) Hope I was of some help...
