I am unable to compile backslash period: "Unrecognized escape sequence". Why oh why in the wide world of sports is this uncompilable?

string Pattern = "\."; <---------This won't compile.

Thanks,
Mark

Everytime it sees \, the string tries to escape the next character. You can either do "\\." which will be intrepreted as "\." or you can do @"\." which will be intrepreted as "\.", I believe.

I haven't got my IDE right in front of me, but I believe that I am correct.
