Can't edit message text in Outlook Express 6.0

I can't edit the text for a new e-mail message. The editor area isn't active. Can't click on it or tab to it after putting in the To: and Subject: The same thing happens when I try to respond to a message. Does anyone have any ideas?

When was the last time you were able to write email? Was anything changed in OE or Windows when this problem began?

Good question. This is the first time using Outlook Express. This machine is running XP Pro. It was fully patched before trying to use Outlook Express. Very strange problem.

Do this with OE & IE closed and let us know if it helps.
