Can't edit exported Word document

I have a VB app that uses Crystal Reports' export feature to create a Word document that I need to have the ability to edit such as add new lines in between report data, but can't figure out how to do it. When I open up the Word doc, all the fields are text boxes and I can't insert a new line in between the report. I can edit the text boxes, but I want to be able to add text to the exported report. Any ideas?

What version of Crystal are you using? I'm using 8.5 and it seems to export fine without using text boxes. Andrew Baines

I am using version 8.5 of Crystal Reports. I have recently downloaded patches for Crystal reports which included some fixes for exporting to Word and I do not know if that had something to do with it. I am pretty sure that a few weeks ago when I looked at exporting to Word so that users could edit the report if needed that it worked alright and now when I export it seems that all items are text boxes in Word and I can't insert lines in between the report data.

If you create a very simple report, just some details and one level of summary, does it export OK? Andrew Baines

No, I have opened a case with Crystal Reports and are sending them samples of a very basic report, one from a few weeks ago that worked fine and the latest export which I can't edit.
