can't edit cell width

Hi,

This is probably an age old problem:
A search and FAQ didn't help.

I'm creating a table and impoting jpgs into into the corresponding cells to match my design.

For some reason i'm unable to edit some of the cell widths, which makes my initial design for the page redundant.

Altering cell width in the html code doesnt seem to work either.
 
If another cell in the same column has an image larger than the width you are specifying then you will not be able to change it elsewhere.

Post the table code to see if there is anything else.

yes, the cell above in the same column has an image which is larger than the one i want to put in the cell below.

is there no way i can have different widths of cells in the same column?

i think that might sound like a silly question because it wouldn be a colomn then...

do i need to creat a new table instead?

appoligies if these are ignorant questions, I'm just getting to grips with things.
 
Yes, create a new table underneath the one with the large image. All cells in a column must be the same width. :)
