can't edit a section of a pagemaker document

While working with a document created by another individual, there is a section of the document that can't be edited. The sections that can be edited, you can highlight the text, the section that you cannot edit, you can only drag a box around it, but can do nothing. I figure PM has some protection capability, but not familiar but Help doesn't help. Help!

Have you looked on the associated master page, or looked to see if there are layers on that page?

Sorry John for the delay in responding. Actually the user with the problem figured out the solution. I don't use PageMaker, so I'm not all that familiar with it. The solution she showed me was to click on the box "R" at the bottom, left-most side of the PageMaker window. This allowed her to edit the protected section, then she clicked on the "1" which was just to the right of the "R". I'm probably not explaining this well, but hopefully anyone reading this will understand. Thanks for your advice.
