is there any way to add or edit information from a query that selects info from multiple tables. I have a query that pulls info from three tables, I then need to edit a field from one on those tables based on the results of the query, but access keeps telling me that the records can't be edited.

I don't know if this will help, but, when I get errors like that, I have learned that it's because access doesn't like something about your query (it might be too complex). Try breaking down your query into something mmore simple (I have tried that). Another thing you can do is look up some questions on "Recordset not updatable" in this access forum - those have helped me too. "Try everything at least once."

Is the query or view grouping data, I understand your view is derived from multiple tables but does it relate to a part of a table that does not include a candidate key or does it use aggregate functions like sum() or average() ?
If any of these are true then Access does not know which record to update, or the update itself will break existing integrity rules.
For example; if you or the system attempts to update an aggregate column with in a view that is grouping records, which record or records in the base tables should actually be updated ?
