i can't disable a password protected screensaver in windows xp. i have checked the display properties screensaver tab. even with a screensaver selected...the password protect check mark is checked, but greyed out. I checked gpedit.msc display options and nothing is enabled. I don't know where else to look.

Thanks.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop and the value "ScreenSaverIsSecure" might be worth checking, perhaps changing the data value from 1 to 0.

Also have a look at any setting you may have for "Fast User Switching" in the Control Panel, see if changing it from its' current setting makes any difference.
